Service Providers
Service providers are vendors who provide IT solutions or services to end users and organizations. This broad term includes all IT businesses that offer products and solutions through services on demand, pay-per-use, or hybrid delivery models.
Examples of service providers:
•Hosting service provider
Hosting Service Providers (HSPs) are a type of IT service provider that provides individuals and organizations with remote, Internet-based IT resource provisioning for hosting websites.
•Cloud service provider
Cloud Service Provider (CSP) is a company that provides network services, infrastructure or business applications. Cloud services are hosted in data centers that companies or individuals can access using network connections.
•Storage service provider
Storage Service Provider (SSP) is a type of service provider that builds, operates, manages, and provides a comprehensive storage infrastructure for storing third party data. Storage service providers may be further classified as online storage service providers, virtual storage service providers, or cloud storage service providers.
•Software as a Service (SaaS) provider
Software as a service is a software license and distribution model in which software is licensed on a subscription basis and is hosted centrally. This is sometimes referred to as "on demand software" and was formerly called "software and services". SaaS is typically accessed by users using thin clients. Through a web browser.
